Banning Orders

On 6 April 2018, the Government introduced banning orders in England through the Housing and Planning Act 2016 for rogue landlords and letting agents, barring those who commit certain housing or criminal offences from carrying out letting agency or property management work for the period of the ban and placing their details on a database of rogue landlords. The minimum term of a banning order is 12 months but section 17 of the Act does not stipulate any maximum term.
