Draft regulations, in-line with the Government response to the consultation that followed the Government review of the Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (England) Regulations 2015, have now been laid before Parliament where they are likely to remain for a short period of time before they become law from 1 October 2022. Key changes 1/ The meaning of ‘relevant landlord’ will change. Currently if the landlord is a registered provider of social housing then they are not a relevant landlord i.e. the current regulations do not apply to them.
